Fundraising

Children’s Workshop is a not-for-profit educational institution governed by a Board of Trustees that receives revenues from tuition and voluntary charitable contributions. The financial support received from parents, alumni, grandparents, parents of alumni, faculty and staff, foundations, corporations and friends of the school have added greatly to the financial stability of the school and the strength of its programs.

While the amounts given are voluntary, Children’s Workshop expects all families to participate in its fundraising activities.

  • Annual Giving Campaign in the fall of each year raises much-needed funds from our community, and these donations are fully tax-deductible.
  • Spring Auction Party: every spring the school hosts a dinner and auction which is attended by all families. This is a fun get-together for all parents and supporters, as well as an important fundraiser for the school.
  • Children’s Workshop also accepts gifts of stock and securities. This type of gift can be a helpful tax tool, since you can avoid paying tax on the appreciated price of stock, while providing a charitable contribution deduction for the current market value of the stock.
  • Gifts in kind: Many families at Children’s Workshop give gifts in kinds, such as professional services (website design, marketing, etc.) and gifts of equipment and furniture.
  • Matching gifts: many employers match donor’s contributions to our school – often they will even double or triple it. Please check with your employer to find out whether or not they have a Matching Gifts Program. Participating is usually a simple matter of providing us with your company’s matching gift form when you send in your own gift.
