The Lead Guide at Children’s Workshop Montessori is responsible for creating and nurturing a beautiful, prepared Montessori environment where children are supported in developing independence, curiosity, concentration, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning. Guided by our mission to foster community, honor innate curiosity, and promote respect and responsibility to self, others, and the natural world, the Lead Guide provides authentic Montessori experiences that meet the individual needs and developmental stages of each child. This role includes thoughtfully preparing and maintaining the classroom environment, observing and documenting children’s development, planning and presenting lessons, supporting social-emotional growth, and ensuring a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom community. The Lead Guide also provides leadership and mentorship to classroom support staff, fostering a collaborative and professional team grounded in Montessori philosophy and practice. Strong partnerships with families are an essential part of the role, including regular communication, conferences, progress reports, and opportunities for family education. Lead Guides are expected to communicate openly and professionally with colleagues, administration, and families; participate in staff meetings, school events, and professional development; and remain committed to continued growth and deepening their understanding of authentic Montessori practice. Above all, the Lead Guide serves as an ambassador of Children’s Workshop Montessori and works in partnership with children, families, and colleagues to support the growth and well-being of the entire school community.
